One of the stores that has supported me from the beginning are the fantastic folks at Aida Shoreditch. I was first introduced to them via my girlfriend, whom whilst living in London, had found their rose lattes the most instagrammable thing ever. And they actually are...
Anyway, besides having an awesome little cafe inside, they have a wide range of mens and womens clothing available. The ground floor hosts the cafe and womens, whilst the basement is all dedicated to menswear. This gives Aida loads of room to play with in regards to their mens selections. I find a lot of independent stores mainly focus on womenswear unless they're a dedicated menswear store, so it's nice to find so much space provided for us guys.
Aida stock a range of brands from Selected Homme to Veja and Samsoe Samsoe. Literally it's really not hard to build an outfit here, including your hat and shoes. I am tending toward a wider fit these days particularly in my bottom choices, which is where I've begun to look for larger sizes to accomodate my fit rather than searching high and low for the right shape and fit. I picked up these Bellerose Pogg Pants in a 34 waist (Normally a 32 is pushing it for me) and they provide a super nice relaxed tapered look when oversized. Normally I can imagine they'd have a more slim fit, but because of the extra space I've managed to make them work for my own style. That being said it doesn't always work, I'm choosing trousers with an elastic waistband so that it doesn't crumple so obviously and you can use the pull strings to tie off your waist.
Next Aida were kind enough to send me a pair of Veja's to shoot. I've always been on the fence with this brand as I'm not too familiar with them and leather sneakers are just pretty hard to pull of in my mind. However I was pleasantly surprised by the style and feel of these on foot, they had this kind of retro runner or basketball sneaker look to them, a little like Jordans at the toe particularly. Paired with the Bellerose pants I managed to make myself a fierce little combo and you can literally just add a white tee to the mix and you're done.
So I thought I'd end by adding a few pieces from the store that I'm absolutely loving at the moment and just haven't gotten round to buying yet. Hopefully you guys can get some inspiration to your future outfits and maybe pop your head instore when you're next around!
