So a while ago I was offered the opportunity to try the new UTC (Ultimate travel Collection) by Craghoppers. Looking back at my history of brand choices, Craghoppers don't normally come up on my radar when it comes to clothing. However I decided to try something new and gratefully accepted the opportunity. I was actually very, VERY impressed.
You'd normally recognise Craghoppers for their outdoors gear, they have a good reputation for being robust and affordable. However, with this new collection, Craghoppers have tailored the fits, styles and materials to the modern traveller. Based around luxury travel, the UTC collection focusses on comfort and style above everything else to make your travel, well, as comfortable as possible. This stuff is literally designed to keep you comfy on that long haul flight, and I can't deny, it is nice.
So the pieces I chose.
The first thing that caught my eye was the Albin Jacket, with its minimal style, gore-tex technology and packable hood, it just all made sense to add it to the list. Since moving up north to Liverpool I've witnessed some serious weather, and having something like this in your wardrobe can really help your mental survival rate out in the rain (I mean, water literally just bounces off this thing). It's got 3 HUGE inner pockets, for all your travelling essentials. The material is aesthetically a matte black, and a incredibly thin and lightweight. It's an ideal jacket for layering underneath. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone, young and old, it has the kind of fit that would suit anyone of any age and any body type.
The next piece was a thin cardigan / hoodie. Although this isn't a regular go to of mine I figured it would be pretty useful for comfort when travelling. To be honest, the hoodie wasn't my favourite piece, especially in comparison to that beast of a jacket (mainly because I don't normally wear super thin hoodies). But I've found it makes an awesome middle layer. In this outfit I've styled the hood over a simple grey tee and under a black overshirt. This is pretty much a perfect combo for travel. The Jacket provides a complete weather proof outer layer that still is breathable, whilst the under layers provide a much more comfortable and stylish look, what more could you want at the (British) airport. Let's face it, with Winter on the way, rain is a given. You'll need some serious essentials on your back to get you through the next few months!
I hope you've enjoyed this last post, I know it's been a long time since! I'm hoping to really get the ball rolling again and get some more cool pieces for you guys to read about. Again, should you want to comment below with anything you'd like to see more of, feel free!
