So this past month has been a complete blur, I've had emails dropping in left, right and centre and it's safe to say I can finally feel this whole gig picking up and I'm finally seeing some return for my work. With that in mind, I've had the opportunity to work with one of my favourite brands and store recently, I've raved about their pieces before, simple and with heavy influences of work wear. Universal Works x The Hip Store folks!
Universal Works have teamed up with The Hip Store once again to bring out a Summer set that I believe is a must for every mans wardrobe, not only do these items work as a full set but they also are incredibly strong statement pieces on their own.
The set includes a Jacket, Shorts and Bucket Hat (although I didn't have mine at the time - look to my instagram for imagery). All in a lightweight corduroy with pocket details for days, I was actually super surprised to find out just how light the materials were considering I'd normally associate corduroy with Winter and heavier fabrics. But trust Universal Works to be the ones to break the trends, one of the things I love the most about the brand is their ability to constantly impress and keep you on your toes. Little details like the pocket on the BACK of the jacket is an absolute winner for me, it's just so different from what you'd normally see and brings so much more dimension to an outfit.
Paired with The Hip Store, (Leeds based menswear store - highly underrated in my opinion). The two make a force not to be reckoned with. They've input a fresh colour scheme to the collaboration utilising the pastel colours you'll currently see trending, but not in a tacky way. The workwear style of the bakers jacket and fatigue shorts seem to overwrite my initial colour judgements and bring a very unique, almost fun, take on your traditional aesthetics. Of course however, I opted in for my neutrals. Living in beige has been my thing for the last few months so when this collaboration arose, I was sticking to my guns and going in strong.

Next I wanted to show you a couple other bits I've had through over the past couple of weeks, mainly from Timex, Arket and Monc. If you're following me on instagram you'll know I've been screaming and living in this Timex Archive watch, it's got some serious military vibes about it and a really classic vintage feel, perfect for my current aesthetic. Next are Arket and their 48hr Tote, this bag is a BEAST. It has more functionality than I know what to do with it, and I'm pretty sure I've only scratched the surface of what it can do, spacious is an understatement. And lastly are these sunnies from Monc, I've been dying for a pair of sunglasses since summer pretty much started, being a glasses wearer in the summer is a nightmare because of, well, prescriptions! Anyway, these are the same model as my regular frames and I'm just trying something new with the clear acetate and darker lenses, has a bit more of an edge to it. Monc have just released their prescription services and to be one of the first to get my hands on a pair is an absolute honour.
